Nao Lau is the daughter of a wealthy couple and was raised to act proper and well behaved. She has always followed her parents orders without question, but when faced with an arranged marriage, she runs away from her long-time home. Knowing that she couldn't possibly survive on her own, her brother catches up with her, and pleads with her to return home. Unsuccessful, the brother does all that he can to keep her safe, and the two search for a new home, living off of what little money they have.
